Mr. and Mrs. Casey Jones, comedy act 1930s, Chicago

2012-08-14 - Chicago, KY - Photo from the collection of Marilyn Jones Boyd.

Marilyn Jones Boyd who now lives in Lancaster, KY, but spent her childhood in Columbia, KY, is the daughter of the late Casey Jones and Shirley A. Jones. Casey Jones, one time world fiddle champion and a long remembered jeweler on the Square in Columbia, KY was, above all else, an unforgettable personality - and, from the photo above, so was Mrs. Jones! Mrs. Boyd is sharing a photo from a little known phase of her parents' career. In the picture, above, her mother Shirley A Jones, and father, Casey Jones were photographed for a comedy act they performed in Chicago in the 1930's.
