Favorite Old Photo: Lerman Bros. in Campbellsville, KY

2012-08-03 - Main Street, Campbellsville, KY - Photo from collection of Larry Smith.
Larry Smith, -
Operations Manager, The Big Dawg, 99.9 FM, Campbellsville, KY. sent this Favorite Old Photo of the Lerman Bros. department store on Main Street as it looked in 1957. At the time, Lerman Bros. stores were in many Kentucky towns, including Columbia, Glasgow, and Lebanon, to name a few. Shelbyville was headquarters, I believe; and there were "Louisville" stores in some towns, which were also operated by Lerman Bros. The stores had every item of good quality apparel and footwear imaginable, for all ages, at affordable prices for middle class families. For little children, those giant lollipop shaped poles were the infamous parking meters, a major source of city revenue in those days. -EW
