2012-07-14 - The Center for Rural Development, 2292 South Highway 27, Somerset, KY - Photo by Sharon Dodson.
Gina Sears of Corbin, KY, is the grand-prize winner of a Houseboat Vacation on Lake Cumberland--valued at up to $3,500 plus a $200 fuel allowance - in a regional fundraising campaign to support The Center for Rural Development's Rogers Scholars summer youth leadership program. U.S. Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05), third from left, surrounded by the second class of the 2012 Rogers Scholars, draws the winning ticket. With him are Rogers Scholar Kayla Wolpert of Estill County and Lonnie Lawson, president and CEO of The Center. The drawing was held Friday, July 13, 2012, in the front lobby of The Center in Somerset. The winner did not have to be present to claim the prize. All of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to support the Rogers Scholars summer youth leadership program. - Sharon Dodson
