Two vehicle injury collision at Greensburg Road, Bypass

Columbia City Police were the first on the scene following a two vehicle injury collision at the intersection of Greensburg Street and the Adair County Veterans Memorial Bypass, at around 11:45amCT, this morning, July 4, 2012. Two occupants of the small, late model, 4 door Ford in the center of the vehicle were taken from the scene by Adair County EMS. They were identified at the scene only as being from Columbia, KY. The driver of the second vehicle, a tan Toyota Tacoma, whose driver is from Russell County, remained a the scene and appeared to be uninjured. Other emergency responders included the Adair County Fire Department, The Emergency Management Director's Hazmat truck, the Adair Search & Rescue Team, and Adair County Constable Joe Collins. Items from the wreckage are strewn from the light standard to the resting point of the blue Ford vehicle include a wheel and bumper that vehicle, and possibly hat believed to have been worn by the driver of the second vehicle.
