A statue of Superman in downtown Metropolis, IL. Superman themes pervade the town, Big Al Owens found, on his foray getting out amongst the people in recent times. If you go: According to Mapquest Map/Directions, it's 42.57 miles from Cairo - Cairo, IL - to Metropolis, IL; it's 13 miles from Paducah, KY, the Quilt Capital of the World and home of the artist relocation program; and it is 237 miles from Big Al's pretty dry East Columbia, KY precinct. Clicking ReadMore has nothing to do with Metropolis, but is concurrent position paper on the wet/dry issue, written during his World Travels.
