Scenic Russell Co., KY: Creelsboro Church of the Nazarene

2012-04-23 - Creelsboro, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The Creelsboro Church of the Nazarene is a beautifully maintained sanctuary in Creelsboro, KY, at 4788 S. Hwy 379, Creelsboro community, Jamestown, KY 42629. It's juxtaposed here with two of the towns wonderfully weathered structures still standing, a part of the old riverport's heyday as a steamboat landing and distribution center for several counties. Merchants from Columbia made regular trips to Creelsboro as late as the 1930s to pick up shipments from wholesalers in Nashville, TN. Photo Sunday, April 22, 2012.
