Bridge widening soon? Magistrate Sammy Baker thinks so

2012-03-19 - KY 55 S. Hwy at Glensfork Creek, Old Zion, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Third District Magistrate Sammy Baker says he's getting word that the long awaited and desperately needed widening of the KY 55 South Road bridge over Glensfork Creek in his district will soon take place. According to Magistrate Baker, the bridge and the approaches will both be widened; the bridge won't be removed and replaced. The red flag, center left edge of photo, indicates where widening may be to take place south of the bridge. The photo was taken from KY 55 South Road at Montpelier Road/KY 92, in the center of downtown Zion, home of the historic Zion Baptist Church and school, now a part of the Gaddie Shamrock Stone County, and Melson Roofing.
