The High Street neighborhood is one of Columbia's best streets to showcase, in part because of the views afforded from the hilltop, as seen above, but, more so, because of the intense effort long time residents exert to maintain it. The neighborhood is beautiful in all seasons, but particularly so in spring. The fallen petals from this ornamental flowering tree were almost as pretty, last night, Tuesday, March 13, 2012, as the tree bole itself, still so full of blooms the ones on the ground were scarcely missed. -Linda Waggener
