Real Olympics Poster emphasizes Grade 13

2012-01-18 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Alan W. Reed.
ACHS Art Students Poster headed for display at Galt House:: Each year the Kentucky School Boards Association invites districts to design banners for display at the annual conference. The theme for this year's training event is "College and Career Readiness: Kentucky's real 2012 Olympics". Adair County High School seniors Brandy Parson, left and Courtney Janes, right, designed the banner, which captures the spirit of the new emphasis on "Grade 13". Ms. Debra Wimmer, art instructor at ACHS accompanies the students. The banner will be displayed next month at the Galt House in Louisville. It will hang alongside others from Kentucky's school districts and remind attendees of schools' primary focus - learning and learners. "Coming up with the idea took forever," said Janes. Alan W. Reed, Federal Programs/Media Relations, Adair County School District, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.
