Sparksville, in water district terms, is almost half the county

2012-01-12 - 109 Grant Lane, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Columbia Adair County Utilities District General Manager Lenny Stone had outspread arms across a wall map of Adair County to show those at the Thursday, January 12, 2012 meeting the wide area to be served by the 750,000 gallon composite water tower at Sparksville. The tower will be fed by a 12 inch line from the 1,000,000 gallon Blue Raider Bob tower at Holladay Place in Columbia, KY. "So many people think that we're running a 12" line just to serve the community of Sparksville," he said, "but the area is huge." Looking on are Water Board Members Robert Flowers, left, and Rudy Higginbotham.
