New Life and New Look to Downtown Area

CIMA, the Columbia Institute of Music and Art, will be on a whole new campus when it opens, tentatively on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 10amCT, in new quarters in the Madison Square, 203 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY. Move in of instruments and furniture was taking place Saturday, utilizing both the services of Galen Campbell for general moving work and the specialty piano moving skills of Elby Burton. CIMA's Madison Square suite will offer voice, instrument and Mandarin Chinese and Korean language instruction. Musical instruments be be sold at the location, and the private offices of TMCC, (True Men Coming to Columbia), a company with Nashville, Hong Kong, and mainland Chinese business ties, will be located within the large Madison Square complex. Closer to town, beyond the Chamber building, the white building in the of the photo, Thomas Construction of Russell Springs, KY, began a facelift to the Walker Building. All the area is within Walking Distance of Lindsey Wilson College.
