Adair County Democratic Party Chair Ben Loy welcomed Governor Steve Beshear and recognized visiting dignitaries to the rally for Governor Beshear at the Fairgrounds on Thursday. At left is Curt Yarberry, one of many standing around the edges of the packed and overflowing Adair County Jaycees Pavilion. Loy also has the distinction of being the first person to vote on the absentee voting machine in the Adair Annex, which, for a moment, put Democrat Steve Beshear at least briefly ahead in the voting in heavily Republican Adair County, with the tally at that moment: Governor Beshear 1; Independent Gatewood Galbraith 0; and Republican David Williams 0.
