Yellow Cottonwoods peaked in the McClure Pass section of Colorado, and Columbia, KY, photographer George Kolbenschlag captured this spectacular scene on a recent trip. The picture was taken Colorado, on the Eastern slope of the Rockies southeast of Grand Junction on the McClure Pass (Highway 133) between Paonia and Carbondale and on the Hebler pass between Paonia and Crested Butte. - GEORGE KOLBENSCHLAG.
