Adair County Solid Waste Coordinator A. L. Sinclair and Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton are dwarfed by the pallets of computers brought in to the Adair County Recycling Center. There were 18 pallets of 15-16 computers per pallet collected by Monday afternoon, October 3, 2011. The computers will be shipped to Scott Computer Recycling in Knoxville, TN where they will be disassembled, with similar parts put into barrels for shipment to China. The return is less than for other recyclables, Mr. Sinclair said, but at least there is now a market for the devices, which do contain toxic materials and should be recycled properly.
