Scenic Russell Co. KY: Larry Smith aerial photo, Lure Lodge

2011-07-23 - 5465 State Park RD, Jamestown, KY - Photo from the collection of Larry Smith.
Larry Smith of the WAVE FM 92.7 and the Big Dawg FM 99.9, sends this early (date will follow) beautiful aerial view of Lure Lodge, 5464 State Park RD, Jamestown, KY. The park is located just under 27 miles, about three-quarters of an hour drive from Downtown Columbia, KY, via KY 55 Road South through the Village of Hardscratch, KY, barely bypassing Crocus, KY, slightly missing the gravesite of Silas Sullivan and the temptation to go to the ghost town of Creelsboro, KY; with a turn south at Sewellton, KY onto US 127, and, a turn onto the delightful meanders of slow route State Park RD. Larry Walker writes that the photo was taken during construction, and would be dated around 1962 in this letter: Larry Walker: Aerial of Lure Lodge appears to be about 1962
