Big Al in Houston, TX

2011-04-27 - La Porte, TX - Photo by Innocent Bystander.
Big Al Owens, the Big Rig trucker, was in Houston, TX in April, 2011. While there, on business, he took time out to visit the Battleship Texas and to send a travel report back to Columbia. If you go: La Porte, TX is near Houston. Go by Graceland in Memphis, TN; stop at New Carlisle, AK for Barbecue at Nick's (almost as good as B&B in Columbia); see the Clinton Museum in Little Rock, Arkansas; then hang a left in Texarkana and head straight for Houston and LaPorte. It's close to 1,000 miles, just over 15 hours, from the historic Courthouse in Columbia, KY. Apologies: There are too many good eats along the way for us to catalog them all, but over indulgence could slow the trip. Unfortunately, Big Al did not share food reports for this mission.
