Jobe Darnell: The man of the hour, tonight

If Adair County gets the brunt of tonight's snow storm, as predicted, Adair County Road Superintendent Jobe Darnell will be ready, with equipment, salt, and seasoned snow plow operators. The County has over 150 tons of salt on hand, about 50 percent more than needed for a single salting of the 600+ miles of county roads. Darnell says it can take over 175 hours of department time to clear the roads and salt them. "On Christmas Day, he said, "we put in 183 hours to clear all the roads." His department's fame has drawn interest abroad. WBKO Tv-13, Bowling Green, KY interviewed Darnell for a segment expected to be aired on news for Tuesday, January 25, 2011.
