Todd Akin, center, affirmed the oath of office yesterday, administered by Adair County CJE Ann Melton, as Akin's predecessor, Rick Wilson holds his own family Bible for the occasion. The ceremony took place starting at 10:30amCT, to fill a vacancy in three critical offices, that of coroner, jailer, and sheriff, for January 1 and 2, 2011.
