2010-11-15 - Photo by Linda Waggener. 201 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY
Columbia Baptist Church member Mary Frances May spoke to the Campbellsville University day congregation after being surprised with the presentation of CU's prestigious Leadership Award. May, is a longtime trustee of the school. President Michael V. Carter, far right, acknowledged her service, and that of fellow congregant H. Hunter Durham, who also served on the CU Board of Trustees. Others above, from left, are CU Vice President for Finance Otto Tenant; CU Professor of Theology and Transitional Pastor of Columbia Baptist Church Dr. G. Ted Turner, and CU Vice President for Academics Frank Cheatham and CU Vice President for Church and External Relations John Chowning. The theme of the day was service to others; the "shoeboxes" lined up in front of the lectern are for Operation Christmas Child, a joint effort of Columbia Baptist Church, Lindsey Wilson College, and Campbellsville University.
