Arnold and McEva Mayse: a 67 year romance

2010-11-11 - Photo family album. Adair County, KYThe photo of the beautiful girl he came back to Adair County to marry after being wounded in the Battle of Brest already had provenance to make it a treasure for the the couple's daughter, Nancy Mann, but a chance discovery of it just days before his death on November 5, 2010 made the cracked and folded picture indisputably priceless. It is a testament to the romance which spanned over 65 years of her father, Arnold Mayse, and mother, McEva Bradshaw Mayse, and another affirmation of Nancy Mann's note with another family photo, which can't be repeated often enough: "I once read that the greatest gift a father could give his children was to Love their mother; and I think its easy to see in this picture that they still had that Spark that brought them together over 65 years ago."
