Photography: Verticals, Campbellsville & Merchant Street

2010-08-27 - Photo by Linda Waggener. Merchant Street, Columbia, KY
"On a twilight walk one day this week," writes Linda Waggener, "I couldn't help but notice all the vertical imagery from Merchant ST looking across the new Adair Judicial Center past the Columbia Christian Church to Lindsey Hill. But, more than that, the spot seems to be an endless study for a photography. At one point, the frame fills with the red, the red brick of the fire station the judicial center, and Columbia Christian Church, or from the intersection of Campbellsville ST and Merchant, the new look of City Hall juxtaposed against the old Collins Corner Drug store. In another, it is the fresh white of Grissom-Martin Funeral home. And in yet another the looking toward the Trabue woods, the impression is of endless green. I can't wait until the benches are installed around Tim Smith's "The Scales of Justice," outdoor art that is, itself, an endless study."
