Scenic Adair Co., KY: Druthers Barn, Allen Schoolhouse RD



2010-07-14 - Photo by Ed Waggener. 1400 mile point area, Allen Schoolhouse RD, District 1, Adair Co., KYClifton McGaha's Barn on the Grassy Springs RD displays a bit of Columbia history with the sign faces from two eras of the fast food restaurant at 1001 Jamestown ST, in Columbia, KY, Clifton McGaha started some 30 years ago with then Adair County Judge James Brock and and then Adair County Republican Party Chairman Gaylon Yarberry. The restaurant was first known as Burger Queen, then Druther's. Later it became a Dairy Queen franchise, and most recently carries the Spy Street name. The signs are 10.7 miles from their original location on Jamestown ST, via Christine RD and KY E 80; or 12.9 miles by way of Christine RD and Liberty RD, according to Google maps.
