Large crowd turns out to view fireworks

2010-07-04 - Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY - Photo by Pen. The view from Lindsey Hill
The July 4th Celebration, with music and fireworks, was spectacular and appeared to be a record breaker. The official crowd estimate from the Columbia Police Department has not yet been received, but it is believed more people watched this event than any previous one. Vantage points, from parking lots to lawns to hilltops were packed for the 30 minute show. Many made elaborate plans for the event, with tailgate parties and impromptu seating arrangements.
