Orphaned Yorkie arrives in Columbia, KY
for transfer to new Bluegrass home

2010-05-27 - Photo by Linda Waggener. Holladay Place, Columbia, KY
Geniece Marcum's last gift to her lifetime friend, Pauline Hughes Hodges, was in giving the orphaned Yorkie, Bella, a home. The little dog pictured above was delivered to the Columbia Walmart parking lot by Pauline's great nephew, Peter Saltsman, from Edmonton, KY, just before his 7amCT work shift there began on Wednesday. Geniece was waiting to welcome the little dog and take Bella to the little dog's new home in Shelbyville. Bella was nervous about yet another change, but on the trip from Columbia to Shelbyville, she began bonding. On arrival at her new home, Bella was met nose-to-nose by the younger Morkie resident, Bodi, who bounced and romped around Bella like the puppy Odie does around Garfield the Cat. It appears the two will enjoy their new sisterhood. -Linda Waggener
