Flooding May 2, 2010: Water isolates 20 families

2010-05-03 - Photo by Todd Wilson. Entrance to Rice Addition, Columbia, KY
Todd Wilson, a resident of the Rice Addition, took this photo yesterday afternoon, Sunday, May 2, 2010, of the flood waters which isolated the neighborhood from 2pmCT until sometime Sunday morning. The waters isolated Columbia Mayor Pat Bell, who used his residence for a command post during the event, which, he says, was handled well by the Columbia Police Department and the City Street Department. An ambulance called by Rice Addition resident Glinda Waggener for a neighbor was unable to make it to the door of the victim's house. EMT's had to come across the fields from Stults Lane; fortunately, the victim came around by the time the EMTs arrived and no harm was done. The names of the two brave men testing the water would be greatly appreciated.
