Adair Co. Judicial Center: Fountain base adds curves

2010-05-01 - Photo by Ed Waggener. 201 Campbellsville ST., Columbia, KYThe base of the decorative fountain which will dominate the front of the Adair County Judicial Center. The rounding effect of curves of the fountain and the entrance is the dominate feature of the structure. Earlier, rectangular capitals crowning the columns were removed and circular ones installed in their place. A target dedication of the building has been reset for May 20, 2010, but will have to be confirmed by the Administrative office of the courts, according to Adair County Circuit Court Clerk Dennis Loy. The fountain was expected to be operational in April, but now the target is early May. A six-foot tall sculpture to be a focal point atop the fountain won't be ready until August, according to projections by the artist, Tim Smith, Columbia, KY. Drawing of the sculpture concept.
