Prettiest Spring Ever, 2010: High Street after the rain

High ST., Columbia, KYBeauty credited to natural performances being in sync: "I took this Thursday, April 8, 2010, when I was leaving my house on South High St. I thought the way the road and trees looked after the rain was very pretty." The scene is looking north from S. High ST near W. Guardian ST. According to naturalist Geniece Marcum and Billy Joe Fudge, the Prettiest Spring ever is because so many blossoming trees are in sync this year. "You rarely see both dogwoods and redbuds in bloom a the same time," Geniece Marcum said. "Redbuds are almost always gone before dogwoods are white," Mr. Fudge said. A white dogwood can be seen just beyond the pink redbud, above.
