Fountain Sculpture concept for Adair Justice Center

2010-01-06 - 201 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY - Photo design by Tim Smith. Sculptor Tim Smith has been commissioned to create a six-foot tall sculpture as the centerpiece for the fountain which will be the focal point of the entrance to the new Adair County Judicial Center. Several design elements in the sculpture give added meaning to the art. Under the familiar scales are leaves and scrolls, with, at the base, a leaf motif influenced by sculpture in earlier buildings in Columbia, KY. The drawing is in green because the bronze from which the sculpture is made will, over time, age with a green patina. While the fountain is expected to be in place and operational in April 2010, the artist projects a completion date of as late as August for the sculpture.
