Bill Monroe home at Rosine, KY

2009-12-14 - Rosine, KY - Photo by Joe Hare. Pat Hare got the answer to a long time wish to visit the birthplace of Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, at Rosine, KY. The occasion was a return from a Black Lions reunion with her husband in September. Rosine isn't on a lot of Adair Countians' radar, but it's really just a pleasant Daytrip from Columbia, KY. By the parkways, it is around 120 miles; cross country by blue highways, around 110. Either way, it takes around 2.5 hours travel time, not county pleasant dawdles along the way.
