Iris bloom on Lampton Lane, 2 days before Thanksgiving 2009

2009-11-25 - Lampton Lane, Columbia, KY - Photo by Patty Green. "Ed, I thought it was interesting that today (11-24-09) I found this iris in the flower bed in full bloom so I guess it is like me kinda confused on the weather," Patty Green wrote with this photo. "I live on Lampton lane so it must be coming spring here, I can't remember ever seeing an iris bloom before this time of year." It's the latest I've heard or seen this far north. Linda and I were the the deep south of Monroe or Cumberland County on Saturday and saw a yellow iris in bloom but didn't get the photo. This Adair County bloom certainly tops that. Comments from climate change experts on this topic will be appreciated. -EW
