Downtown Details: Fire Escape

2009-11-15 - Jamestown Street - Photo by Pen. The fire escape along the Jamestown Street side of the Columbia, KY, Radio Shack is a little noticed feature now, but it's been an important safety device in the days when the dental office of the late Dr. H.C. Randall was on the second floor and the Masonic Lodge held meetings on the 3rd (or fourth if one now counts the rathskeller as a ground floor) floor of the Jeffries Building, on the Square at the Jamestown Street exit.
