Incredibly fresh produce from Gene and Joyce Hoots

2009-07-22 - 602 Tutt ST, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Tomatoes and Incredible Corn are coming out of the garden every morning from the gardens of Gene and Joyce Hoots at 602 Tutt ST, Columbia, KY. Incredible Corn is full kerneled, straight rowed, sweet - great for corn on the corn or fried corn cut off the cob and sauteed in butter or olive oil. Many of the tomatoes are over two pounds. Hoots says this year's garden is best he's ever seen. It's the truth for all he's seen, but he's only been around 81 years, so you might want to check with a more mature gardener to make sure. At right, the Gene Hoots' tomatoes give pretty good plate coverage and should make a pretty good tomato sandwich.
