Columbia, KY: City of Clocks. The Bank of Columbia 2009-06-25 - Burkesville ST and the Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. The BANK of COLUMBIA'S analog clock on the Public Square is one of three current locations, six clock faces, in the community which show time with moving hands and a fixed number face. Soon there will likely be another location, though the number of faces is not yet determined. The view above was taken on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, and shows the demarcation between two microclimates, with the baking heat on the expanse of old pavement on Burkesville Street turning Saharan on the torrid outdoor bakery the rotary on the Public Square became after new blacktop was laid.
