2009 Chamber Picnic: Great Chef at Work

2009-06-17 - Roadside Park, 2310 Hwy 55 South Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Barbara Armitage.
"There is no greater indication of a great community than one where people enjoy cooking for each other And we do it the best." -SUE STIVERS
"Feeding a big crowd of hungry people is a huge responsibility," writes Barbara Armitage. Jay Cox of the Bank of Columbia has broad shoulders and a killer grill making him the perfect man for the job. Rumor has it that Jay may have gotten the job over at the bank because of his culinary skills but there's no actual proof of that since all the evidence seems to have been eaten. I can tell you that after tasting his extra thick and juicy hamburgers last night at the Chamber of Commerce Annual Picnic I would be willing to write him a letter of recommendation should he ever need a new job. If you missed the picnic you missed a great dinner - it's the best 5 dollars I've spent in a while." She adds, "On top of the dinner being delicious and the best deal in town the Bank of Columbia donated all the proceeds collected back to the Roadside Park. There's nothing better than a full tummy and knowing that we all did something good for the community." As a footnote, Sue Stivers proclaimed the baked beans Jay Cox prepared for the banquet "The best I've ever eaten."
