2009 Chamber Picnic: Not everyone got a table

2009-06-17 - Roadside Park, 2310 Hwy 55 South Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Barbara Armitage.
"Not everyone who attended the Chamber of Commerce Annual Picnic got to sit at the table some preferred to take their watermelon and relax in the cool grass," writes Barbara Armitage. Despite the storm which passed through one hour earlier, one of the best crowds ever attended the event, at the Road Park, one of Adair County's best kept secrets. Once known as Conover Woods and later as the State Park, it is now operated by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, thanks to a drive spearheaded by Mr. Richard Phelps. Large parties are requested to reserve areas in advance by calling (270) 384-2730.
