Pink Dogwoods: At Mr. John Lowe barn

2009-04-22 - 701 Jamestown ST, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
IT'S HARD TO JUDGE whether the pink dogwood in the front yard of the Robert Taylor residence on Jamestown Hill is prettier than the one in back, which is gorgeous, too, Significantly, this one accents what any kid growing up on Jamestown Hill remembers as "Mr. John Lowe's barn." For me, it was our breakfast scene from 705 Jamestown Street. Then, there was a garden patch between, and apple trees grew on the town farm Mr. John and Ms. Allene Lowe and all the wonderful Lowe family, lived on. Back then, it still had barn doors, and was painted, I believe, a pale yellow. - Ed Waggener.
It is Dogwood Heaven in Adair County right now. It's tempting to drop everything and just drive and look. Perfection may be sometime this afternoon, at around 5:23pmCT, much the same way as time when the Green Giant Company was supposed to get everyone in Minnesota to the pea patches to pick green peas when they were at the exact peak of perfect perfection.
