Scenic Adair Co., KY: Cutter's Travels

2009-04-05 - South Milltown/Clay Ridge, Adair County, KY - Photo by Celia Downey.
The VIEW FROM BEHIND CUTTER'S EARS: "Ed, what a fabulous spring day," Celia Downey wrote yesterday, Saturday, April 4, 2009. "My horse, Cutter, and I took some fabulous pictures from the hightest point on the 61North Highway showing the beautiful Adair County scenery over the Russell Creek Valley looking into Milltown. The Russel Creek bridge and the green surrounding pastures are just past her ears," she noted. "Then we ventured on into the valley for a little spring round up of the cattle. What a wonderful day." The area ahead is 5.5 miles north of Columbia on the Greensburg RD, the the view overlooks the Downey Farm and beyond into Milltown. The road to the left is just below the famed Bill Newt Curve on old KY 61 (couldn't find the new name or CR #). -CM
