The Old Adair County Courthouse: Blue skies ahead?

2009-04-05 - 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
WILL THE BLUE SKIES CONTINUE TO LOOK DOWN ON A BEAUTIFUL OLD ADAIR COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 500 Public Square, with the building preserved as a museum, art gallery, bookstore/coffeeshop, and/or classrooms for Lindsey Wilson College? or will the blue skies of Adair County be a canopy over a lawn with a statue of Richard Lee Walker or just another intersection? A determination is expected before this fall, when District and Circuit Court and Mr. Dennis Loy move to their new 35,000 s.f. Adair Justice Center and County Sheriff Ralph Curry and County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin move to new offices on the second floor of the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY. Will the a compact be worked out with Lindsey Wilson College to bring part of their campus to the downtown and become more involved in its future? It's in the news now, with new impetus provided by David Grigsby. Even the two rock pigeons in the upper right hand corner of the photo may have the issue on their mind.
