Heartland Parkway: Reason for concern for Dr. Downey

2009-03-18 - Adair County High Schoool, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
The WAY ONE OF THE PROPOSED HEARTLAND PARKWAY ROUTES cuts through Dr. Max Downey's farmstead, located just across the Adair County line in Taylor County was a matter of grave concern. One alternatives makes something of a swoop away from the path of today's KY 55 toward Green River Lake and slices his farm in two. "How am I going to get hay to horses across a four lane divided highway?" Dr. Downey asked. The median, between the north and south bound lanes is generally 40 feet, but will be squez down in some places, the gathering last night, Tuesday, March 17, 2009, was told. Still, the limited access road will only wholes punched in the fence no closer than 1,200 feet apart. The road is apt to be built as early as 2017. It was a great concern for Dr. Downey.
