(ADV) Cultural & Culinary forces collide at Ol' Joes B&B Que

2009-03-18 - 824 Campbellsville RD, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ol Joes B&B QUE Public Relations Dept.. FEEDING HUNGRY MOUTHS and FEEDING HUNGRY MINDS: Ol' Joe Barbee is where the world of history and culture and barbecue culinary expertise collide. America's best barbecue? Of course. But we also have food for the mind, with the great history of Adair County in word and picture tastefully hung in a gallery of photos we're hoping will get the attention of Southern Living, Dave Shuffett, or the late Charles Kuralt. Above, left Joe Lynn Barbee in the midst of the great massing hanging on March 6, 2009. Above right A photo of the honor guard accompanying the body of World War II hero Alfred Harper, with from left, Robert Parson, Bill Walker, Jack Williams, W.J. Cundiff, and J.T. Tupman, as the procession entered the Public Square from Campbellsville Street. A much larger version hangs on the East Wall of the VFW Building, Fairgrounds and Young Streets, Columbia, KY. Lower left A picture from long ago Lindsey Wilson College Administration Building in 1903, scarcely changed today as the L.R. MacDonald Building on the A.P White campus, except for the wonderful Brass Rail Symbol installed in the tenure of Dr. John Begley. The building was erected by George Fletcher, from a design by architect Val Collins. Lower right Maybe Ol' Joe's Favorite picture. Some great faces from Knifley, KY. From left, Owen Arnold, Robert Quinn, Nolan Jones, Lon Chelf, Chester Chelf, and Steve Knifley. Knifley was the town's blacksmith. There are so many more fascinating art pieces to see, including some Katie Kerr landscapes (for sale) at Ol' Joes B&B QUE, 824 Campbellsville RD, Columbia, KY. Come visit. We're open this weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 20 and 21, 2009. MENU
