GOVERNOR STEVE BESHEAR and other dignitaries took part in the groundbreaking ceremony this morning, Monday, February 9, 2009, including, from left, Mason and Tessa Pyles, children of Danny and Sandy Pyles; KY Highway Department District 8 Engineer Tammy Wilson, Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton, Columbia Mayor Pat Bell, Governor Beshear, Senator Vernie McGaha, State Representative Bam Carney, Tim Hill of Hillview Construction Co., the Contractors for the Job, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Secretary Joe Prather, and Edgar Hancock and his great great nephew, Cy Yarberry. A large crowd was on hand for the event, with Secretary Prather speaking briefly and introducing Governor Beshear for the main address.
