Betty Sue Jasper captioned this: "Crooked Birch Tree located off of Sulfur Creek Road in Adair County," and accompanies it with a beautiful quote from John Muir, the famous naturalist whose explorations took along an east-west path some 30 miles south of Columbia, KY, "I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted they travel as far as we do. They go wandering forth in all directions with every wind, going and coming like ourselves, traveling with us around the sun two milliono miles aday, and through space heaven knows how fast and far!"
