Second Sunday 2008: Walking to Jerusalem

ONE of the LARGEST GROUPS, if not the largest, to participate in the Second Sunday event now going on from Adair County Elementary School were these members of Worship & Wellness Walkers of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. They include, front, kneeling, Pam Jones; first row, from left, Julie Burton, Norma Jean Parnell and Joseph Parnell; back row, Jessica and Jaylie Willis, Lee Ann Willis, Terry Partin, Rita Partin with Luke Partin and Macy Partin, David Jones, Chad Parnell, and Karen Partin. The group is participating in a church program to walk collectively and symbolically walk from Jones Chapel to Jerusalem, a distance of 6,337 miles. So far, they've logged some 400 miles. They're also letting H. Hunter Durham count count the miles in his Columbia Rotary Club Walk around the World program.
