Miniature Golf Course target opening: Labor Day weekend

2008-08-26 - Miniature Golf Course at Holmes Bend General Store - Photo By Ed Waggener.
CHRIS BINFORD, of Old Craftsman Furniture Company, was putting the finishing touches on the Miniature Golf Course 4 miles out Holmes Bend Road, between Rerun's Holmes Bend General Store and the Old Craftsman plant. Later this week, the pretty stone lined water falls, a central feature of the attraction, above, should be operating again. The golf course is owned by Greg and Nevis Redford, who also own Old Craftsman, but it will be operated by Rerun Cornelison and Ricky Shelton from Rerun's restaurant. Mrs. Redford did not guarantee a Labor Day weekend opening, but said, "That's what we think we can do." The miniature golf course has 18 holes. It has been closed for three seasons, but Mrs. Redford said that when it opens, it will be at the best time of the year. "We opened on Labor Day the first year," she said, "and it was really busy." The area around Holmes Bend is quickly developing. The latest project is Jericho Landing, owned by David Butler and Joseph Pyles, beside Charity Baptist Church in what was historically downtown Jericho, KY, at the intersection of Corbin's Bend Road and Holmes Bend Road.
