2008-07-15 - Conover Family Cemetery, Haven Hill, Liberty Road, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
SEARCHING FOR A FRIEND'S GRAVESITE. Geneva Triplett Loy, Russell Springs, KY, sister Eloise Triplett Riddle and Eloise' husband Jim Riddle, Red Key, Indiana, were searching Haven Hill Cemetery, Liberty Road, for the graves of two deceased friends recently. They standing by a historic marker, the gravesite of Marvin Conover, the first Adair County lawmen killed in the line of duty. This section of the cemetery is along the ridgeline between Liberty Road and Bull Run. The standard behind them is the flagstaff in the main cemetery, and Columbia is in the distant background. The sisters are the daughters of the late Les and Emma Triplett. The Triplett childhood home was located across Jamestown Street from the Susan Miller land, then a delightful horse pasture and now the site of Columbia church of Christ. Jim Riddle is originally from Cumberland County, but graduted from Columbia High School in 1948. He had a career as an employee of Ball State University before retiring to Garlin, KY, for three years. He and Eloise returned to Red Key, IN to be closer to children and grandchildren.
