Morris Chapel Cemetery: An unusual tombstone

2008-06-29 - Intersection KY 768 & Bennett Ridge Road, District 4, Adair County, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
BESIDES OFFERING A SPECTACULAR VIEW the beautiful cemetery beside Morris Chapel United Methodist Church also has some unusual gravestones. Edwin Taylor, Columbia, KY, says that he isn't even sure anyone was ever buried there. "It's either a stalactite or a stalagmite taken from a nearby cave," he says his mother always told him. He believes the person who erected it intended it to mark his own final burial place. The view is northwest from this point. The road belows leads to Keltner, from Weed.
