Good news for CJE at end of long day

Near the end of a long day starting with an upbeat meeting of the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce breakfast with Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet Secretary John Hindman and at the close of the Adair County Fiscal Court May meeting, County Judge Ann Melton received good news on the salary funding of the county's Enhanced 911 Dispatch center. The news that the Adair County Ambulance board had overridden Chairman J.D. Biggs' objection and would pay its share of projected share of the salary deficit was personally delivered by EMS Director Terry Akin. The CJE now has two user agencies' support, and lacks only a commitment from the City of Columbia, the biggest user, to complete the budget needs for the center.
