Jason Harmon Photo from the Past: Pete McQueary

2008-04-29 - Christine, KY - Photo From collection of Jason McQueary.
Merchant/Farmer/Amateur Dentist and fierce Gunslinger
"This is the photo of Merchant/Farmer/Amateur Dentist and fierce Gunslinger, Mr. Pete McQueary of Burton Ridge fame. Pete is shown here, gun in belt, in about 1913 with his wife Maudie Burton-McQueary, son, Elvin McQueary and daughter Delie McQueary. Pete famously kept his store in the Christine Community for about 50 years. The photo came to me via Greg Burton who is the Great grandson of Pete and Maudie McQueary. Pete was a jack of all trades. He even dabbled into Denistry. If you couldn't afford Pete's tooth extraction prices he was even nice enough to let you borrow his dental instruments and you or a friend could try it yourself. I doubt this practice would fair very well at our local store." -JASON HARMON
