Scenic Adair Co., KY: Redbuds on Square in bloom

2008-04-14 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener.
THE YOUNG REDBUD TREES planted last year on the Square in Downtown Columbia are already brightening the rainy spring mornings. The trees are located in three quadrants of the Square, with only the fountain plaza quadrant lacking a redbud. That quadrant is made colorful with flowers during the spring, summer and fall. In the foreground, a yellow Adair County School bus is a reminder that schools are back in session after Spring Break. Roads are slippery with rain, and Adair County Schools Director of Transportation David Jones urges drivers to use caution. (And to check out the boasts Jones Chapelers are making about his championship fish frying at the JC UMC Church on Saturday, April 19, 2008. See CM Events for details.)
