THOSE WHO REMEMBER THE LATE U.S. REPRESENTATIVE TIM LEE CARTER may find his favorite verse coming to mind at this sight on Hancock Road, just north of Sulphur Creek, in District 7 of Adair County. The view is to the northwest, at this point. Dr. Carter would close every speech with this valediction: "In the words of the old Irish blessing, 'May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand'."
